Growing up brings many natural transitions that can be challenging at times. With additional life stressors, it can all feel overwhelming. Problems at school, low self-esteem, family conflict, past traumas, loss/grief, and other issues can create strong feelings that get in the way of normal functioning. I believe every person has a story of resilience and my role is to help you integrate past experiences, cope with present hardships and create hope for the future.
I enjoy using creative approaches including art, music, play, sand, creative writing and movement with a cognitive-behavioral framework to teach healthy coping skills and encourage self-awareness and self-expression. We are all part of larger systems of family and community and I support inviting others into the process when appropriate.
Whether it's navigating strong feelings, understanding negative behavioral reactions/coping or processing trauma or grief, I desire to create a safe, comfortable environment for self-expression and discovery. I would be honored to join you and your family on your journey to a happier, healthier life.
